Windows 10X Is Launching Next Year: Detailed Report
The tech giant company Microsoft has announced its new operating system Windows 10X for dual-screen foldable devices, earlier in 2019. The company has promised that the new version would be simple, sleek, and comparatively faster that earlier generation of Windows.
Reportedly, the Windows 10 was originally supposed to work with dual-screen devices including Surface Neo, Lenovo ThikPad, and many more. However, the earlier made plans changed due to Covid-19 pandemic and the company’’s new priority is to launch Windows 10X to work with single-screen devices.
As per the reliable reports, Windows 10X is now expected to be released next year for single screen devices and obviously the launch is expected in 2021 spring.
This new operating system has now been updated and included with new features and is expected to meet new needs on low-end hardware, which is likely to enter in market in mid-range devices as well.
Latest reports on Windows 10X
Based on new reports, the Microsoft has done finalization for RTM candidate for widows 10X, and this will now allow OEM and the MS vendors to initiate the work on devices based on the new OS.
However, this new operating system is still waiting for its launch in Spring 2021 to enable new features on PCs from different hardware makers.
As per the reports, it also suggest that Windows 10X will not ship with Win32 apps because of compatibility issues. Actually, the Windows 10 compatibility levels with Win32 apps were found no great and the company decided to focus on Windows 10X without any native support for Win32.
The aforementioned details also indicates that users will be able to download and install apps only through MS Store or MS Edge. However, the company is expected to work on a premium service named Cloud PC which will allow users to stream their desktop apps on Windows 10X based devices.
Also, it’s worth to mention that Windows 10X will not be released for beta testing, means the users won’t be able to install the new OS on their current hardware. But the OS will be available only for new devices.
About the features of Windows 10X
As it’s well known to users from last year reports that Windows 10X will include a new Start Menu with attractive set of colored icons. In addition to this, the new OS will also ditch the flat and aesthetic live tiles to provide simple experience with various customization options.
According to Microsoft’s statement, “Flat, monochrome icons look great in the context of colorful tiles, but as more icon styles enter the ecosystem, this approach needs to evolve.”
Also, the new OS will come with new Action Center that is expected to help users to perform quick actions. This new feature comes with new volume controls, power options, and battery percentage.
As per the previous claims, the Windows 10X would be technically separated from various OS components like drivers, and apps. This simply allows the operating system to bundle updates better that traditional version of Windows 10.
As per the tech giant, the Windows 10X has been developed and designed to download and apply changes in very less time in compare to traditional versions. It will actually save the update package in other partitions which will approximately do updates in 90 secs. Once done, the update data will be moved to other partition and will be used for system update while being rebooted.
