The USA Secret Service Created A Cyber Fraud Task Force
The USA based secret service is taking actions to control cybersecurity threats, in such prospect, it has created a special agency named Cyber Fraud Task Force. This specific and newly created force is committed to detect and prevent serious cyber crimes, specifically those which are categorized under financial abuse.
As per a report, the Secret Service from USA has created Cyber Fraud Task Force, a specific division of cyber crime authority which is to detect and prevent financial abuse based cyber crimes. This new move was actually posted back a few days ago and is a resultant of the merger of two existing units which were the parts of Secret Service and were named as the Electronic Crimes Task Forces (ECTF) and Financial Crimes Task Forces (FCTF). But now, both are combined to form a new task force with with combined responsibility of former divisions.
As per the experiences gained by Secret Service so far, it allowed the agency to reorganize and create an optimized team of professionals which can provide an adequate response against the rise in cyber crimes. Till now, the agency have been able to defend American citizens against various computer threats which includes Covid-19 Phishing Scams, Online Fraud, Illegal Sale of Stolen Covid-19 test kits, and many more.
As per what is announced by the new cybersecurity task force, it will offer agents that will provide active defensive and analysis functions working with new edge technologies. The Secret Service will train the professionals in almost all required skills, technologies, and provide them with the latest information on partners to mitigate the increase of cybersecurity threats. The agency has found that all currently running investigations nowadays uses sophisticated digital evidence, for this reason, the service is highly acquainted with the required technology solutions.
Currently, the Secret Service has 42 domestic CFTF locations and even have an office in London. In the future, the plans are yet to be expand the task force to a number of 160 all around the globe.
