Steps to set auto-delete Facebook account after the death
Facebook allows an account of a person who has passed way to set as “Remembering” or an option for auto deletion followed by a request from a verified person. This person could be a friend or family.
Remembering feature allow the person to do some basic tasks – like writing a pinned post, respond to friend requests and update the profile picture and cover photo. However, this Facebook feature does not allow log in to the memorized account, change any information, read chants with other friends and etc.
Also, the account to be selected as a Legacy Contract attached to the account to do any permitted changes.

- Sign in to your Facebook account,
- Click on the down arrow in the top right corner
- In the drop down menu, select Settings & Privacy and then click settings
- Click on the General option,
- Click Memorialization settings
Here you will have a choice to decide whether you want to request the account to be deleted after you pass away or choose someone to look after your account after you pass away.
After the selection is made, confirm this so as the changes take place. If you choose the delete option, the Facebook will delete your account including all the data present in it after someone notifies them about your death.
