Search for a tab in opened tabs – new feature introduced to chrome
Sometimes, when there are too many tabs, say 50+, open on web browsers, it becomes difficult for users to find out the one that they exactly looking for. Luckily, Google is updating their browser to solve that problem.
In the latest Chrome 87, there will be button next to the new tab sign that help you to find an already opened tab. Just click on this button and you will be able to type in the title of tab you are searching for.
In addition to “Tab Search” feature, the company also intrudes a tab throttling for performance and battery boost up and direct actions of the address bar with the latest version.
This feature is currently being tested and will not be available in stable versions till March 2021.
Google said, this feature will be coming to Chromebooks at first and other desktop at later. However, if you a window user, you try out the guide below the enable this feature before its availability officially:
- Download Google Chrome Canary,
- Head to the Chrome:// flags menu
- Search Enable Tab Search,
- Click on enabled button
- After this, relaunch the browser, as prompted
Earlier in May, the company started to roll out tab grouping feature. This feature is to move a tab groups to a new window, open a new tab in the group or ungroup them. Also, as Google said that time, they are looking for an option to collapse a tab within a group feature as well.
