It’s now actually new that Microsoft has announced Windows 10X back in 2019, as a new operating system that is designed to be used on dual-screen devices. However, the company changed its mood last year and announced the new OS to be launched for single-screen devices like laptops, and so on.
Although, this new operating system is still to get released, an almost final working build of the operating system has leaked somehow, that allowed many people to install and run it on their devices.

The new taskbar actually features icons located in the center. The Start Menu of this new OS is completely changed and redesigned. It also includes a notification center with new design shortcuts. The OS also includes a very simplified File Manager and starts all the apps in full-screen.
If you are still unaware of Windows 10X, then you should know, its actually an strain of Windows OS, that is meant for low cost Chromebook style devices, and not a replacement for Windows 10 on Desktop. However, with the usage of this operating system, users will get limited access to legacy apps from MS Store and web apps.
But, this operating system is still worth to use due to many factors. Just looking through its UI, it seems like really a good thing that should be brought in current version of Windows 10 for desktop. However, the file manager in Windows 10X is complete and terrible new addition for Windows, that somehow seems to be identical to ChromeOS and iPadOS.
Reportedly, this new Windows 10X is expected to be available as a pre-installed OS on such devices which are to launch later in 2021.
