Samsung announces collaboration to Microsoft on cloud-based private 5G network solution

Samsung on Tuesday this week announced collaboration with Microsoft on an end-to-end cloud based private 5G network solution.

Samsung is pioneer in successful delivery of 5G end-to-end solutions ranging from chipset, radio and core network. So, this partnership will lower the barrier to entry for the development of 5G networks in enterprises.

Also, it will advance the virtualization of 5G solutions, including the deployment of Samsung’s virtualized RAN, virtualized core and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) technologies on Microsoft Azure.

Implementing fully virtualized 5G solution on a cloud platform will enable vast improvement in the scalability and flexibility of networks for mobile operators and enterprises. Also, it will be benefitted for Enterprises like retail stores, smart factories and entertainment venues, such as stadiums.
