Remove WebMonitor RAT From PC

WebMonitor: Manual Delete Steps

WebMonitor has been identified as a remote access/administration tool (RAT) which allows its developers to control the infected PC systems remotely. Some of these RATs can be employed with good motive i.e., to provide remote technician support. Nonetheless, it is also used by cyber criminals for malicious purposes. This particular Trojan has been designed by a company named Revcode and promoted as useful tool that provide users remote access and control over computers via a browser. Yet, various antivirus companies have classified it as pernicious software since it includes characteristics mainly utilized by cyber offenders.

WebMonitor

WebMonitor Is Available For Sale On Hacker Forums:

WebMonitor can target both Windows as well as Android operating systems. It can be purchased on hacker forums and has three subscription plans: €149,99 per year, €99,99 per six months, and €64,99 per three months. A number of cyber crooks are interested in this RAT as it can spread file-encrypting viruses, conceal and manipulate malware so that it could not be detected by antivirus programs. Moreover, this malicious app can block the operating system or stop the software running inside the compromised systems such as antivirus from notifying victims regarding its presence.

Moreover, WebMonitor is generally spread by cyber criminals bundled with Zoom installer. It’s not the only app that has been propagated via installers for the Zoom software. It is worth mentioning that Zoom app’s official download sources such as Zoom’s Download Center, Google Play Store or Apple App Store don’t spread the Zoom installers bundled with this precarious trojan in either way. This nasty RAT can be used for multiple hazardous purposes like accessing and viewing screen and webcam, microphone, logging keystrokes (recording keyboard input), managing hard drives, downloading, uploading, deleting, renaming, executing and editing files. WebMonitor does the same on any connected external devices.

This notorious app can be also utilized to monitor web browsing activities, gather browsing history, list of installed add-ons, image cache, recover passwords from mail clients, network and the system, messengers. It can collect the list of applications installed on the operating system and remove those apps. This spiteful RAT can be also employed to run commands via Commands Prompt and PowerShell, add, edit or remove registry entries, manage system processes, and track the system in other ways. And hence, an instant WebMonitor removal is strongly recommended.

Ways To Spread WebMonitor:

This pernicious RAT has been noticed being distributed using an unofficial Zoom installer. Typically, unofficial installers are spread through unofficial sites, free file hosting pages, Peer-to-peer networks, certain freeware download portals and other dubious sources for downloading files programs. Cyber crooks also deliver this RAT via phishing emails. These mails are presented as letters from Empros Lines Shipping Company stating about an overdue invoice. However, they generally contain a malicious archive file that includes an executable files which once opened, leads to the installation of the virus.

To prevent such intrusions, you should avoid opening emails received from unknown addresses. These deceptive mails often include vicious attachments or links. So, be careful and always scan the attached documents first using a reputable anti-malware tool prior to its opening. In case your system is already infected with this RAT, you must remove WebMonitor from the computer as soon as possible.
