The ransom note appears in Russian language. Victims are supposedly received further instructions after the contact. The note says, the encryption is done using RSA-2048 cipher algorithm that create two keys – for both encryption and decryption. The keys are stored on some remote server that can only be accessed by the crooks behind it. They ask ransom payment for the exchange of the tool. The exact amount of this tool is not stated. It may be disclosed after the contact. However, it is typically in between $500 and $1500. In any case, you should never attempt to contact these people or pay the ransom. Researchers say these criminals often ignore victims, once payment is submitted and there is a high probability that the paying will not deliver any positive result. You will probably be scammed. Unfortunately, there is no tool at present that can provide the encrypted files for you, at least for free. You should use existing backup for the data recovery.

Again, click on the “Restart Now” option. The work-station boots to “Advanced Startup Option Menu”. Press on “Troubleshoot” and then “Advanced options” button. In the “Advanced Option Screen”, press on “Startup Settings”. Again, click on “Restart” button. The work-station will now restart in to the “Startup Setting” screen. Next is to press F5 to boot in Safe Mode in Networking.

For Windows 10 Users: Press on Windows logo and on the “Power” icon. In the newly opened menu, choose “Restart” while continuously holding “Shift” button on the keyboard. In the new open “Choose an option” window, click on “Troubleshoot” and then on the “Advanced Options”. Select “Startup Settings” and press on “Restart”. In the next window, click on “F5” button on the key-board.

Step 2: Delete VCrypt Ransomware using “System Restore”

Log-in to the account infected with VCrypt Ransomware. Open the browser and download a legitimate anti-malware tool. Do a full System scanning. Remove all the malicious detected entries.
