The spam email claims that a file named “New_#P042221_pdf.gz” in it contains a copy of a purchase order. This file, however, contains malicious file named “#P042221_pdf.exe”, which is designed to cause Agent Tesla virus infection. It is a remote access tool that crooks use to access and control the infected systems.

In most of the cases, they use such viruses to log keystrokes, manage files, run PowerShell commands, command prompt, download and execute files, capture screenshots, access microphone, webcam and etc. It is known that RATs can log keystroke, steal login data from web browsers, email clients, VPN and FTP clients, disable certain Windows features, capture screenshots and steal WI-FI credentials. These data are used in variety of malicious activities such as:

• Commit identity fraud,
• Make unauthorized purchases, transactions,
