During the research time, the promoted website by MailEx scam offers the rewards from iPad Pro, cognitive pills, cannabidiol gummies, keto weight-loss pills, and anti-aging cream. When the reward is chosen, the website asks users to provide their information like first, last name, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number and email address. It is likely that the users will be asked to enter credit card info after that or to pay some fee as a processing or shipping charge.

To sum up, phishing emails can be used to trick people into believing that they will get some prize in return for participating in a survey and some personal information. The scammers use the stolen data in stealing identities, making fraudulent purchases, transactions or for other purposes. A couple of examples of the channels that are used to promote survey scams and other deceptive pages are deceptive ads and unwanted programs. Quite often, PUAs open shady sites and gather browsing based data to generate intrusive ads. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to sure to not have any PUAs on the system.

Unwanted downloads, installations can be avoided by declining unwanted offers that certain downloaders/ installations include. As already mentioned in the previous paragraph, the unwanted apps can be opted out via Custom/Advanced and similar settings before finalizing the installation process. • In the Internet Explorer window, select the Gear button present on the right corner
