How to remove MailEx scam virus
Easy tips to delete MailEx scam
MailEx scam is a phishing spam used by scammers to trick people into providing their sensitive information. They send emails offering the recipients a fake survey to get certain prize. On completing this survey, the visitors are asked to enter the personal information to claim the reward. It is important to mention that such scams are often used to extract financial related information, paying transactions and processing fees as well. Either way, you should ignore such emails and never trust on the sites that they promote.
The scammers behind MailEx scam trick users into opening a survey scam which is disguised as letter regarding a pending parcel. As per the letter, some package is ready to deliver. The recipients require just confirming it by providing their information to the promoted website. This site offers users to participate in a survey to get a promo reward of worth $90. The main aim of the scam is to trick users into believing that after answering some questionnaires and providing personal information, they will receive a chosen reward.
During the research time, the promoted website by MailEx scam offers the rewards from iPad Pro, cognitive pills, cannabidiol gummies, keto weight-loss pills, and anti-aging cream. When the reward is chosen, the website asks users to provide their information like first, last name, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number and email address. It is likely that the users will be asked to enter credit card info after that or to pay some fee as a processing or shipping charge.
To sum up, phishing emails can be used to trick people into believing that they will get some prize in return for participating in a survey and some personal information. The scammers use the stolen data in stealing identities, making fraudulent purchases, transactions or for other purposes. A couple of examples of the channels that are used to promote survey scams and other deceptive pages are deceptive ads and unwanted programs. Quite often, PUAs open shady sites and gather browsing based data to generate intrusive ads. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to sure to not have any PUAs on the system.
How did PUAs infiltrate my system?
Very often, PUAs are distributed by including them in the downloaders or installers for other programs as extra or additional offers. This distribution method is called software bundling. It is often used to trick people into downloading/ installing unwanted apps together with regular software. Usually, unwanted apps can be declined under Custom/Advanced and similar settings or by un-ticking checkboxes that downloaders/ installers for those programs have. Users do not change and change these settings and agree to the inadvertent installation of unwanted apps alongside regular programs. Deceptive ads can be designed to cause unwanted downloads. In such cases, users download/ install unwanted apps after clicking the ads that are designed to execute certain scripts.

How to avoid PUAs installation?
Unwanted downloads, installations can be avoided by declining unwanted offers that certain downloaders/ installations include. As already mentioned in the previous paragraph, the unwanted apps can be opted out via Custom/Advanced and similar settings before finalizing the installation process. Another way to avoid unwanted downloads is not to use p2p networks, free file hosting sites and third party downloaders/ installers that often offer dubious and/or bundled content. Additionally, it is not recommended to click on ads that appear on shady pages- they often open some shady pages or cause unwanted downloads/ installations.
