How to remove Evolution Ransomware and recover files
Easy tips to delete Evolution Ransomware and decrypt data
Evolution Ransomware is a ransomware-type infection that operates by encrypting stored files and then demanding ransom payment for the decryption. The affected files are renamed with .evolution extension. For example, a file 1.jpg would appear something similar to 1.jpg.evolution. Afterwards, the virus creates a ransom note within “!#_Read_me_for_revocery_#!.txt”.
The text file informs the victims that their files have been encrypted and that they need to establish contact the crooks via the provided email address to initiate the files recovery process. Usually, in most of the cases with ransomware infection, there exist some unique decryption tools without which the files can’t be decrypted.
Obviously, the crooks are the only people who have the right decryption tool. For the exchange of this tool however, they ask ransom demand. This ranges from $500 to $1500. Typically, the payment is asked in Bitcoin and other digital cryptocurrency so that the transactions can’t be tracked. These people may provide free decryption service for one or two encrypted files gain users’ trust.
However, in any worst condition, you require not to contact/ pay to the crooks. These people are not reliable. They will never provide you the decryption tool even if you fulfill all their demands. Therefore, you will suffer huge financial loss and the files remain encrypted. To prevent Evolution Ransomware from further files encryption, its removal is necessary.
But, the virus removal itself does not decrypt the already encrypted files. The sole solution for the files recovery is to use existing backups. But, if you do not have any existing backups, don’t lose hope. Their still you have at least two data recovery option available in the form of Shadow Copies and data recovery tools. Refer our data recovery section below the post for more detailed data recovery guide.
How did Evolution Ransomware enter my system?
Malware are often proliferated through spam campaigns. The deceptive emails sent from such campaigns can have infectious files or links for such files in them. The virulent files can be in any formats, including archives, Java Script, PDF and Microsoft Office documents, JavaScript and etc. When these files are opened- the infection chain is initiated.
Malware can also be distributed through dubious downloading sources such as unofficial and freeware sites, p2p networks and etc. Illegal activation tools and fake software updaters are the prime examples. Cracking tools cause system infection instead of activating licensed products. Fraudulent updaters infect systems by abusing outdated software flaws and/or by installing malicious programs.
